What is done in a back lift procedure?
A surgical back lift is a surgical procedure to remove excess saggy skin that forms back rolls. The concept is to reverse all the dramatic physical changes that took place on your back and waist during weight fluctuations and through time. Expected scars with surgical back lift:
Surgical back lift is done through a bra line incision or a lower back incision just above the buttocks. The incision lines are sutured subtly and are adjusted to your actual clothing. The scar is designed to be concealed by your clothes and swimwear and is sutured meticulously in order to make it as inconspicuous as possible.
Recovery from back lift:
It is not a highly painful group of procedures; pain killers in the form of patches, pills, and probably intramuscular injections if needed totally alleviate pain.
Back swelling (edema) should be expected normally in all cases and lasts for about 2 weeks after surgery.
Drains (small plastic tubes) are usually not required in a back lift, but could be used if much liposuction is done to the waist and flanks. Drains are usually removed by the 1st week if used.
